Google has removed Instant Search feature – Say Goodbye

Google removed instant search feature from July 26, 2017. Google has launched instant search feature in September 2010. With this feature, the user can get instant result page while they typing on Google search box. Now, Google only showing search suggestions to the user while typing on Google search box and the user only able to see the search result page by clicking on the search suggestions or after entering the search query.

Google drop these instant search feature to bring search more faster on all the devices. Today, mobile searches are increased over desktop so Google decided to kill this feature. Here is their statement by Andy, Search & Assistant Community Manager, replied in Google forum.

We launched Google Instant back in 2010 with the goal to provide users with the information they need as quickly as possible, even as they typed their searches on desktop devices. Since then, many more of our searches happen on mobile, with very different input and interaction and screen constraints. With this in mind, we have decided to remove Google Instant, so we can focus on ways to make Search even faster and more fluid on all devices.

Many people said this will affect SEO and Google AdWords advertiser. I don’t think this will affect anything.

As we seen, Google continuously made a lot of changes in Google result pages. Few recent changes in Google result page listed below.

Google has removed ads from the right-hand side:

Google has removed ads from the right-hand side of its desktop search results worldwide from February 2016. Google shows 11 Google AdWords text Ads in the Google result page including right-hand side. After removing ads from the right-hand side Google displaying seven Google AdWords text Ads in the Google result page top and bottom. The reason for this changes is to improve the user experience on Google Search.

Google extends Title and Description length:

Google extends Title and Description length from March 2016.

Title tag: New Title Tag is 70-75 characters increased from 50-60. This will helps to give a lengthy title for the article and pages. One of my article contains 73 characters title showing on Google search result without truncating my title. Refer below screenshot.
